Lions Rugby Tour 2013-Enjoy The Spirit Of Lions Rugby

Detroit Lions Jerseys, A Little About Lions Rugby History
Lions rugby dates back to 1888, although the name British Lions was not adopted until the tour of New Zealand and Detroit Lions Jerseys Australia in 1950. This nickname was used originally in 1924 by journalists because of the emblem of a lion on the players\' ties. In those days the strip went through numerous changes, but since 1950 the Lions rugby strip has been synonymous with the amalgamated crests of the four unions on the famous red jersey.

Also in the earlier days of Lions rugby, the team represented one nation, which was the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In fact even after the Republic of Ireland became independent in 1922, the team were still referred to as the British Isles (meaning in the geographical sense) and it took up until 2001 for the name British and Irish Lions to be embraced.

Last Lions Rugby Win 1997 And Looking Ahead To 2013
Now, over 120 years later, there\'s still nothing else quite like Lions rugby in the sporting world. Fans love to see these four nations coming together as one, and putting their rivalries aside, to play together against their opposition. Over the years there have been so many memorable moments on Lions rugby tours; like the last time the Lions won in 1997, against the Springboks. How can we forget Jeremy Guscott\'s match-winning drop goal in the 2nd Test in Durban? What a moment in Lions rugby history!

Next up is the British & Lions Tour to Australia, 2013; which looks set to be an impressive rugby extravaganza, with the best that world rugby has to offer, set against the backdrop of some of the most beautiful locations across Australia.

Lions Rugby Tour 2013 - Brisbane Detroit Lions Jerseys 1st Test Match Venue
The British & Irish Lions 2013 schedule starts with a pre-tour match in Hong Kong, and then travels across Australia, culminating in the three Test matches. The 1st Test match takes place in The River City, which most of us know as Brisbane. The capital of Queensland, Brisbane is one of Australia\'s major business hubs and is home to Australia\'s third biggest port. The River City is also the third most popular tourist destination in Australia for international tourists.

While visiting Brisbane for the Lions rugby tour 2013, you won\'t want to miss the world\'s very first koala sanctuary, which has been open since 1927-the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. If you enjoy Detroit Lions Jerseys live music, then check out what is on in Brisbane while you are there. The city has a growing live music scene which encompasses popular music as well as classical. Other tourist attractions in Brisbane are the City Botanic Gardens the Brisbane Forest Par, Portside Wharf, the South Bank Parklands and the Roma Street Parkland. The \"Tsuki-yama-chisen,\" which is the Japanese Garden, can be found in the Mount Coot-tha suburb, home of the state forest as well as the Brisbane Botanic Gardens.

Lions Rugby Tour 2013 - Melbourne 2nd Test Match Venue
The 2nd test match takes place in Melbourne. Located in the large natural bay, Port Philip, Melbourne is considered to be the cultural capital of Australia and in August 2011 was voted the \'most liveable city in the world\' (according to the Economist Intelligence Unit).

Melbourne is interesting on the eye, as it features an extensive juxtaposition of Victorian era architecture alongside the modern, contemporary Melbourne, which is what most people associate with the city.

Melbourne was the Australian city which did best during the financial crisis of 2007-2010, which is evident in the city\'s continuing property boom in 2011. It is a huge international cultural centre which has hosted ambitious major events and offers a wide array of annual cultural events to be enjoyed. In 1956 Melbourne was host to the Summer Olympics, in 2006 the Commonwealth Games and is host annually to the Australian Open (tennis), the Australian Grand Prix (Formula One) and the Melbourne Cup (horse racing).

The list of things to do and see in Melbourne is massive. The city has serious jazz venues, Melbourne Shuffle dance venues which can often be found down dark, back streets, and all types of bars and nightlife that you can possibly imagine.

It also has a deservedly good reputation for the huge variety and quality of its eateries. For example in Glen Huntly Road there is a great strip which offers a range of different cuisine genres, including Middle Eastern, Thai, Malaysian, Indian and Chinese. Also Melbourne does have its own Chinatown which can be found (funnily enough) on Little Bourke Street, which spreads out onto Russell Street.

Lions Rugby Tour 2013 - Sydney 3rd Test Match Venue
And last but not least of course, the British & Irish Lions 2013 Tour 3rd Test which takes place in Sydney. Even if you haven\'t visited Sydney, the magnificent vision of the Sydney Opera House will most likely come to mind when you think of this city.

The dramatic cityscape of Sydney is surrounded by stunning National Parks and is home to the famous beaches: Bondi Beach and Manly Beach. Yet Sydney has a bountiful amount of beaches in its north and eastern suburbs, and in the Cronulla area.

From May to early December along the city\'s coastline, you can go whale watching. Sydney\'s coast is on the migration path of humpbacks going from Antarctica to the Coral Sea. On a very rare and special occasion they can be seen swimming into Sydney Harbour.

There is an endless list of things to do in Sydney. For those with a head for heights, climbing the southern half of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which was made possible in 1998, is a must. This is a three and a half hours experience and can also be done at night time. Then there is the Sydney Tower which is the second tallest free standing structure in Australia, and it has a moving viewing platform which juts out over the main structure\'s edge. In fact this attraction is over twice as high as the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb!

Sydney is home to Taronga Zoo which opened in 1916 and today is home to around 340 different species. The city also has many interesting museums and for some peace within the city centre, you can visit Hyde Park, which is famous for the avenues which are lined with fig trees. This is only a small sampling of what Sydney has to offer.

Looking ahead to Lions Rugby Tour Australia 2013 With such amazing venues, the Rugby World Cup 2011 behind us and the history of the last couple of Test series between the Lions and the Wallabies, we are really looking forward to the British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia in 2013.

In 2013, four nations will be right behind the next Lions coach and squad, hopeful for our first triumph since 1997, while we enjoy the spirit of Lions rugby in Australia.
